Metrum supplies a wide range of Degaussers designed to
provide a cost effective solution for the erasure of a variety of
analogue, video and digital data magnetic media formats. From simple hand
held units suitable for low volume usage through to high energy units
capable of erasing magnetic media either oxide or metal based, up to 1,700
Oersteds, all units remove all traces of previously recorded data allowing
media to be used again. In addition, several units in the Company's
range have been approved for the secure erasure and destruction of
information and data stored on magnetic media up to high security levels by
the UK Government and the US Department of Defence, in addition to meeting
the requirements of the Security Equipment Assessment Panel.

Metrum offers a complete range of
equipment for the cleaning and certification of media from reel to reel
through VHS and DCRSi to DLT and LTO formats. These cleaners /
evaluators identify imperfections in the media, reducing the possibility of losing irreplaceable
data, and will also retension the tape which is recommended for items
that have been stored for long periods. As media drives tend to be
inaccessible for the operator to clean, the necessity to ensure that the
tape surface is clean is essential, as this reduces the possibility of
the tape drive becoming contaminated, and hence reducing the wear on the
recording and replay heads.
