Certified D1, ID-1, D2 and ID-2 Media

19mm Cassette tapes in the D1/D2 format are used extensively for Professional Video applications, whereas Mission Recording and Trials for military and paramilitary applications use ID-1 / ID-2 formats.  Due to volume production methods and batch testing of media the significant potential for data loss can be reduced by certification for applications where accurate recording of information is essential.

Certification:

Metrum’s certification process for 19mm media comprises pre-use cleaning and optical inspection combined with thermal stabilisation.  This procedure is essential to minimise risk associated with deposition of oxide in the tape path which can lead to contamination in the tape path and to identify tape surface faults incurred during manufacture.
